Frequently Asked Questions

2 Bedroom Residence Lanai Ocean View Room FAQs

What does the 2 Bedroom Residence Lanai Ocean View look out on?
The residence has a private lanai with ocean views over the Pacific. It sits on the Kapalua Bay property, which is perched above the bay on the northwest coast of Maui. It is a good choice if you want to take your morning coffee or an evening drink looking out at the water.
How are the beds arranged and how many people does the residence sleep?
The residence is set up with 2 Double Beds and sleeps up to six guests. Bedding is premium and hypoallergenic, and the bedrooms have blackout drapes. A rollaway bed can be added for a surcharge, and a crib is provided free of charge.
Can I cook in the residence?
Yes. At 1,774 sq. ft., this is a full residence with a kitchen. It has a full-sized refrigerator/freezer, a dishwasher, a coffee/tea maker, and cookware, dishware and utensils. If you would rather not cook, In-Residence Dining is available daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
What is the bathroom like, and is the room accessible?
The private bathroom has a separate bathtub and rainfall shower. It also has bathrobes, slippers, designer toiletries and a hair dryer. Accessibility features include a roll-in shower, grab bars in the shower and by the toilet, and a closed-captioned TV. The residence is reached by exterior corridors.
Is this residence a good fit for families or multigenerational groups?
It suits them well. The two-bedroom layout, kitchen, six-guest capacity and free crib give a group real space. The resort runs a daily supervised Keiki Club and has a family pool with a shallow entry and a waterslide. Of its three pools, one is adults-only, and the others welcome all ages.
How close is the beach, and where can we eat?
Kapalua Bay Beach is about 0.2 miles away, a short walk. Resort guests are given complimentary loungers, umbrellas and towel service there. On site, The Restaurant at Kapalua Bay serves breakfast (7–11 AM) and dinner (5–9 PM). The Pool Bar is open 11 AM–7 PM, and The Hideaway serves dinner 5–9 PM. Mahana Market has grab-and-go food from 7 AM to 3 PM.
What should I know about check-in, fees and parking?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM, and the minimum check-in age is 18. A nightly resort fee is charged on top of the room rate, and the amount can vary. Self-parking and valet are each $65 per day. Pets are not allowed, but service animals are welcome. The resort is in a period of ownership transition with renovation planned, so check current fees and works when you book.
Are the spa and fitness center included with my stay?
The fitness center and movement studio are complimentary for hotel guests. Both are open 6 AM–6 PM on weekdays and 6 AM–7 PM on weekends. The Spa at Kapalua Bay gives up to three hours of facility access with a 60-minute or longer treatment. Without a treatment, you can buy a 3-hour Spa Renewal Pass for $75 plus tax and service charge.
When is the best time to book this residence?
Humpback whale season runs roughly mid-December to mid-May, so a lanai with ocean views is a good place to watch for them. Late April–May and late September–October are often calmer and drier with lighter crowds. Summer is the best time for beach days.
How do I get to Kapalua Bay from the airport?
Kahului Airport (OGG) is about 45 to 55 minutes by car, roughly 34 miles away. Driving is the most comfortable way to reach the resort, because there is no train on Maui and the public bus is slower. Lahaina is roughly a 17–22 minute drive from the resort.
